Information

The Tour of Payne is an organized bicycle ride offering 20, 38, 64, and 105 mile routes. It is sponsored by Stillwater's Red Dirt Pedalers Bicycle Club.

An annual patriotic bicycle ride on various routes within Payne County. Participants are invited to the city's "Boomer Blast" celebration that evening. This event celebrates the place "where Oklahoma began," close to the start of the 1889 Land Run in North Stillwater. Historical locations in the town are rest stops on the route, including Jim Thorpe Park in Cushing.

Ride start time is 7:30 a.m.

All routes are well marked and will be supported until 2:30pm by SAG vehicles.

Fully stocked rest stops will be provided at appropriate intervals until 2:30pm.

Rest Stops will be located in or near Ripley, Cushing, Mehan, and Yale.

Showerswill be available after the ride at the Stillwater Jr High. Please bring your own soap and towel.

The entry fee is $20.00 for those that pre-register by June 15, 2009 and $25 afterwards.

 


Ride Headquarters

Headquarters is at the Stillwater Jr High, 1900 N Skyline St. in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Packet pick-up and information is available at the Stillwater Jr High the evening before the tour from 6 to 10 pm.
